Speaking Before the Board of Trustees

Pursuant to Village of Sleepy Hollow Ordinance Code 1-5-4:

(section) F. Order Of Business:

  1. At every meeting of the President and Board of Trustees the order of business shall be as follows, unless otherwise established by the President and Board of Trustees:
  1. Call to order
  2. Pledge of Allegiance
  3. Roll call
  4. Minutes of previous meeting
  5. President report
  6. Clerk report
  7. Plan Commission report
  8. Zoning Commission report
  9. Zoning Board of Appeals report
  10. Attorney report
  11. Engineer report
  12. Treasurer report
  13. Comments from the public
  14. Trustees reports
  15. Old business
  16. New business
  17. Adjournment
  • Comments: Pursuant to subsection F1m of this Section, each meeting shall be opened to comment by persons in attendance, under the following conditions:
    1. Each person desiring to address the Board shall sign the designated speaker’s list maintained by the Village Clerk prior to the meeting with his/her name and address.
    2. Speakers shall be allowed to address the Board in the order in which they sign the list.
    3. Each such speaker shall be allowed a period of no more than five (5) minutes to address the Board, provided, however, that the total time allowed for such comment at each meeting shall be no more than thirty (30) minutes, and those persons who have signed the list but have not spoken before the total allotted time has expired will not be heard.     (section) G. Placement On The Agenda:

    1. Any person who has business to address to the President and Board of Trustees may have his or her name and business placed on the agenda of any regular meeting of said Board by filing an oral or written request with the Village Clerk not less than three (3) days prior to that meeting at which he or she wishes to address the corporate authorities. Such address shall be limited to fifteen (15) minutes per person. (Ord. 2000-5, 3-20-2000)
